Another headstand step by step. This time it’s a tripod headstand!

Starting from a neutral table pose, bring the crown of your head to the floor forming a tripod with your hands and head. Push up into downward dog, keeping the crown of your head planted, and start to walk your toes toward your head.

One leg at a time, come into a tripod. You can stay here to work on the balance. Then, using your core, start to lift the knees off the back of your arms. You can also stay here, slightly lifted, to work on the balance.

Then, straighten the legs and tuck the tailbone slightly to come into the headstand.

Alternatively, once you’re stable in the posture, you can work on lifting up off the floor with straight legs.

Building strength in these postures means you can also start playing with leg variations!
